The countdown event last week marked a sweet full stop for year 2013.
The highlights for Jurong Central in 2013 include the launching of the new bus service 49, a day tour to River Safari with 1,200 residents, a new tennis court, a community visit by Minister S Iswaran, Our Singapore Conversation, etc., not to mention the various upgrading projects.
Moving on to 2014, estimated 48 volunteers and 65 donors have already signed up for Project Love to help the needy families, but we still need more. Please do not hesitate to sign up here.
On another note, I am sure many of you know that the flats in Jurong Central have been occupied since 1983, and will soon turn 30 in a few years' time. Some of us are feeling nostalgic about the many developments in our neighbourhood. Hence, we are starting a campaign to collect photographs of Jurong Central back in the 1980s. If you have any, please approach the volunteers at the RC Centres or the counter staff at Jurong Green CC. We would make a copy of your precious photographs, collate them and eventually exhibit them as part of our run-up event to celebrate Singapore’s 50th birthday.
Have a blessed and happy 2014!
