I am pleased to announce that LTA will be introducing a new bus service to the Lakeside MRT station. Currently, residents staying along Jurong West St 42 have to take a feeder bus to Jurong East MRT station. The new bus service would bring these residents from Jurong West St 42 to the nearest station, i.e., the Lakeside MRT station. This new bus service, which would be launched in the last quarter (4Q) of 2013, would definitely bring the much welcomed convenience to the Jurong residents.

On another note, many of you would probably know that the dengue season is reaching its peak. By April 2013, the number of reported dengue cases has already far exceeded the cumulated figure in the whole of last year and the number is still climbing. NEA has stepped up the effort to wipe out the mozzies but we need the help of all residents to play their part by removing any stagnant water body in their flats (see www.dengue.gov.sg for more information).

The last few months have seen quite a number of bustling activities being held at Jurong Central, as reflected in the pictures in the following pages. In particular, the Jurong harmony Day was held for the first time at the open field beside Jurong West Street 41 on 23 Mar 13. On that night, DPM Tharman joined more than 3,000 Jurong and Bukit Batok residents for a camp fire. Our next highlight will be the Jurong Green CC Open House on 15 June 2013. Remember to mark it down on your calendar and I look forward to meeting you on that day!

Yours Sincerely,
Ang Wei Neng
