The Jurong Central Zone B Residents’ Committee (previously known as Jurong Central Zone F Residents’ Committee) is located at Blk 423 Jurong West Avenue 1 #01-218. It covers 24 HDB blocks from 417 to 440, with a total of 1,964 household units.
The RC organises various types of programme, ranging from children’s workshops to senior citizens’ outings. Amongst the many events organised, the most popular ones include the Onam Kampung @ Jurong, badminton tournaments and all the festive celebrations.
The RC has many interest groups which organise various activities for our residents. The Interest Groups cater to residents of all ages and races. The popular IGs include, Senior Citizens’ Club, Sepak Tekraw Team, Petanque Club, Karaoke Club, Qigong Shi Bashi, Health Exercise Group, Gardening Club, IT Club , Badminton Club, Bowling Club, Table Tennis Club, Fun Walkers Club , Jurong Jewels and our latest addition, the Cycling Interest Group.
The RC also actively participates and supports national and district-level events. For instance, the Jurong Jewels IG represented Jurong Central division to perform in the South West Arts District Festival held in October 2011. Last year, they also participated in the Chingay 2011 organised by the People’s Association, The Amazing Science-X Challenge (ASXC 2011) organized by Singapore Scene Centre and supported the Jurong Green CC MAEC Puncak Dikir Barat competition.
Currently, the RC is helping to conduct IT courses for senior citizens. The RC Centre is also operating as a wireless hotspot for senior citizens to learn and use the IT facilities in their free time.
Jurong Central B RC is run by residents for the residents, and with close partnership with various government agencies, the volunteers strive to improve the estate and the lives of their residents.
